About Americans for Approval Voting

Mission Statement

Americans for Approval Voting is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation that works towards the enactment and use of Approval Voting in all public elections for single winner offices in the United States.

Representatives of this organization inform legislators and other candidates for political office about Approval Voting. We help craft suitable legislation and assist efforts to enact the legislation. In states that support the initiative process we may craft and support initiatives to enact Approval Voting.

In no case does this organization authorize involvement with political questions that do not relate to the specific mission of this organization.

The Board of Directors of Americans for Approval Voting are elected by the Voting Members. For that purpose, all Voting Members of Citizens for Approval Voting who are also United States citizens are considered to be Voting Members of Americans for Approval Voting.

This organization has a separate Board of Directors, Officers, bank accounts, corporate filing papers and so forth from Citizens for Approval Voting and so it is truly a separate and distinct organization. Accordingly donations for CAV are not used to fund operations of this organization. Instead we depend on your donations to operate Americans for Approval Voting.
